Repainting Project of Georgia Governor’s Mansion in Atlanta, GA

CertaPro Painters of Atlanta has been honored to work on multiple projects over the past year for the State of Georgia, with the most recent being Georgia's Governor's Mansion.

In January of 2019, with just a few weeks remaining until the office move-in date for Georgia's 83rd Governor and first family, CertaPro Painters of Atlanta was asked by State of Georgia planners to complete a near full repaint of the interior of the first family's private living area within the Governor's Mansion. The three-floor, 30 room Greek Revival style home, constructed in 1967, was in need of painting work in all bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, private office spaces, and common living areas on the residential floor. Like many projects previous to this, the overall scope of work remained relatively straightforward; however, there were several items which required additional specialized planning, given the nature of the project. They included:

  • Working within a government high security access area
  • Ensuring that decorative items of high value within the building were provided extra protection during production
  • Working within very specific timelines
  • Operating in a work space with multiple other trades on tight deadlines

After a thorough setup and appropriate work, all walls were coated with one coat of Sherwin Williams, SuperPaint, Interior, Flat finish, that were to match existing colors.
