Residential Project in Atlanta, GA
Situated in a quaint neighborhood just east of the Vining area of Atlanta, this residential exterior project was completed at the beginning of the 2018 summer. The scope called for CertaPro Painters of Atlanta to paint a majority of the exterior, including the soffit, brick, cedar shake shingles, windows, door frames, and facia. Additionally, the previously painted gazebo and the decking on the right side of the house were included as add-on optional items. After a limited amount of carpentry repairs were addressed, the house was pressure washed with mildicide solution (composed of 3 parts water and one-part bleach) to remove all dirt and mildew for proper finish coat adhesion. The house was then prepped and painted using Sherwin Williams premium products.
Some unique challenges that affected this project over and above the normal residential painting project includes:
- High ladder work.
- High end gutter, down spouts, stone, decking and porch wood components that needs to be protected (including cedar wood and hardwood components that were not painted).
- Multiple different substrates were encountered that included brick, cedar shake shingles, wood and stucco.
- Additional containment was repaired due to a swimming pool in close proximity to the project area.
